Preorder Faqs
Question | Answer |
---|---|
Will orders be tracked? | Yes! All orders, including international orders, will have tracking numbers. Keep in mind that in certain countries outside of the USA, once an order arrives, tracking might not update. Check your local postal service tracking. |
Will UK or EU orders be allowed? | Yes, but placing an order through BigCartel means that any VAT or other taxes/fees will not be charged during checkout, so those fees will likely be applied once the package arrives at its destination. The Wrightworth Zine store is not responsible for these fees! Sorry for the inconvenience. |
When will orders from seconds/leftover sales ship out? | Leftover sales will close on June 17th, 2022. All orders will be packed and shipped out at this time or earlier. You will receive a shipment email when your order is packed up and shipped. Due to a large influx of orders, we may drop orders off at the post office in batches, but rest assured, we are doing everything we can to ship out orders quickly enough. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns about your order. |
I haven't received my order from the preorder period. What do I do? | Check your tracking email. If no activity has happened recently, please reach out to us and we'll discuss your options. |
Do you accept refunds/returns? | All sales are final. However, orders lost in mail transit and/or any damaged items will be replaced and resent. If we are out of stock of a damaged/lost item, we will refund you the cost difference of that item instead. We are not responsible for incorrect addresses; if you need to correct or edit an address for ANY reason, please contact us! We cannot change an address once the package has been sent out. |
Is this for profit or for charity? | This project is for charity. Any proceeds made past production costs will be donated to the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund. |
Can I get expedited shipping? | Yes, but keep in mind that this will cost more, especially for international orders. If you would like expedited shipping, please let us know in the 'notes' section of your checkout. |
Do you accept PayPal? | Due to PayPal policies, we will be accepting Stripe instead. |
Will you offer a-la-carte merch? | Yes, for leftover sales only! Please select any and all merch that you want. 3 or more items will give you a discount! |
Do I pay VAT tax up front? | No. As stated above, VAT or any other taxes will not be charged on our end. |
I might be moving soon, but I want to place an order. | You're welcome to email us with your order number and new address, and we'll update your shipping address straight away. No worries! |
Where will the zine ship out from? | All zines will ship out from the USA. Zines will be carefully protected and packaged to ensure no damaged goods. |
How much can I expect to pay for shipping? | This entirely depends on your location and what you order. To see shipping costs, you can add items to your cart, and the shipping costs will be reflected on the checkout page. Orders from outside of the USA will cost more due to international shipping costs. Rest assured, we will do everything in our power to ensure shipping weights and costs are the lowest they can possibly be. |

Frequently Asked questions
Question | Answer |
---|---|
Do contributors get a free zine? | If enough funding for the zine is made via preorders, all contributors are expected to receive a full free bundle (the zine + merch), with contributors paying for shipping costs. If not enough funding is made, contributors can purchase the zine + any merch items at production cost. Our main goal is to provide contributors with a free zine + merch, and will do everything in our power to reach that goal. |
Can other characters be in my piece? | Of course, only as long as Wrightworth/Narumitsu is the main focus of the piece. |
Can I include other ships? | We'd like to keep the focus on Wrightworth/Narumitsu, but other ships involving characters outside of Wrightworth can be approved on a case-by-case basis! |
Is traditional art allowed? | Traditional art is absolutely allowed as long as the art can be scanned into digital format at a high quality under the artist requirements! We’re happy to accommodate any art format. |
Can I draw a comic/two-page spread? | We have a limited space for comics/art that will take up more than one zine page. However, if you are interested in drawing a two+ page spread, we will open up requests for this once applicants have all been accepted, so hang tight! |
If I’m doing merch, do I have to draw a page piece as well? | It is entirely up to you! Merch artists can only do merch if they’d like, or they can do merch + a page piece. Be sure you have the time/availability to work on more than one aspect of the zine, however. |
Can I be accepted as more than one role (writer & artist, artist & merch artist, etc.)? | You can be accepted to more than one role, however, it is not guaranteed. You may be accepted for one role, and not another, or you may be accepted for both. We suggest only applying for more than one role if you can complete all required pieces for that role in time. |
Why is there such a huge artist to writer ratio? Why aren’t you accepting more writers? | As much as we’d like to accept more writers, we have a limited amount of pages to work with in the zine, as more zine pages will raise the book’s weight and therefore raise international shipping costs significantly as well. Each writer, with their word count limit of 2,000 words, will take up at least five pages of the zine, and that adds up with each writer we take on. On the other hand, artists only take up one zine page, and therefore we can afford to take on more. We’re so sorry for the inconvenience this causes, and we will strive to take on as many writers as we can possibly fit. |
Are AUs (alternate universes) allowed (for example: vampire Edgeworth AU, etc.)? | Divergence from canon is fine (such as modern AUs, etc.), but we want to limit pieces from straying too far from canon. If you’re unsure if an AU would be allowed, feel free to ask! |
Do the characters have to be a specific age? | No; this zine will span over the entire series, therefore they can be any age you’d like to portray them as. |
Is there a particular timeline in canon that we have to stick to? | No, it can be during any timeline or game timeline that you would like! |
Is NSFW/Adult content allowed? | This will be a safe-for-work, safe-for-all zine. All pieces must be without sexual content. Shirtless content/slightly suggestive content is fine. |
Where is this zine based? | The zine will be shipped out from the USA. We will strive to keep shipping weights as low as possible to avoid expensive international shipping. |
What experience do the mods have? | The mod team has plenty of zine moderation, storefront, and design experience under their belt. Mod Ari and Ide (organization, fulfillment, writing, and artist mods) have organized Bulletproof Heart: A Barret Zine. Mod Ide (storefront, fulfillment, artist mod) has managed his own merch and storefront. Mod Harmony (support, organization, and writing mods) has moderated plenty of zines, including: Stay Closer: Promnis After Dark, Incandescent: An Ignoct Zine, IQ Lucis Zine, and Found Beneath the Stars: A Promnis Zine. Mod Marissa (formatting mod) has book layout experience. |
Can I ask another question? | Of course! You may reach out to the zine’s social media or email, or the zine’s CuriousCat or Tumblr ask box (linked down below) and a mod will respond as soon as possible! |
Q: Will there ever be another of these zines? | A: At this moment in time, this is the only Wrightworth zine planned by this particular production team. However, should there be enough interest for future zines at a later time, there’s always a possibility for more! |
Q: Do you already have a writing mod? | A: Thank you so, so much for your interest in helping with the zine! Two members of our moderation team are writers, and are excited to help with the writing process for our contributors. |
Q: Is experience required for applying as an artist? I have only drawn for one other zine. | A: Experience in other zines is not at all required for applying! All that we ask is for sample works/a portfolio for us to review. Popularity or zine history will not matter! |
Q: Can you take (insert artist here) as a guest artist? | A: We’re looking at everyone’s suggestions very carefully, and will take all guest artist recommendations into consideration, but we cannot make any promises as we want as much space in the zine for applicants. |
Q: If there’s a lot of interest-responses will there be more [artist/writer/merch/etc.] slots open? | A: There’s a great chance that if more interest is shown, we will open more slots for the zine, so long as there is enough space! However, please keep in mind that we have to keep the book a specific size and weight in order to have the lowest possible shipping costs for international folks. |
Q: What are the requirements to get in the zine as an artist? | A: In the application, we will be asking for an art portfolio or 3-5 links to what you consider your best work. Ace Attorney art isn’t required for the application, but we will need to see artwork that can show all of your skills! Since style can be diverse, we’re trying not to give hard requirements as to what your artwork needs to look like. If you have artwork showing backgrounds and attention to detail, we’d love to see it! |
Is this zine taking mod interns? | Thank you so much for your interest in joining the team! We currently are only looking for graphic design and zine layout moderator(s) at this time, as we otherwise have a full team. |
When we apply, do we have to have previous Ace Attorney art? | While Ace Attorney related samples are preferred in the application, it's not a hard requirement to apply to the zine, so long as you show off your best work! |
Do you have an age minimum to apply? | For mod applications, we’re asking applicants to be at least 18 or older. For contributor applicants (writers, page artists, and merch artists), we ask applicants to be at least 16 or older. |
Can moderators also contribute to the zine with art or writing? | In the application for moderators, there will be a space for you to provide samples or a portfolio of your work. If you provide samples, you will be allowed to contribute to the zine if you are accepted as a mod. If you do not provide samples of your work in the application, it will be assumed that you do not want to contribute to the zine in an art or writing capacity. |
